About This Memorial
The Lago Vista Veterans Memorial Park, originally established in 1999 and rededicated in 2018, honors veterans associated with the community. Located near City Hall, it features a gazebo with military branch flags, the Path of Honor with engraved bricks, and granite totems representing each service branch. The park commemorates veterans from various conflicts, with special recognition given to Medal of Honor recipients, POWs, and Purple Heart honorees. A centerpiece is the 'Axis of Freedom' sculpture, a bald eagle by artist Marley Porter. The refurbished park serves as a tribute to all service members and their families.
