About This Memorial
The Texas World War II Memorial, erected in 2007, honors the 22,000 Texans who died in service during World War II 1941-1945 and commemorates the over 830,000 Texans who served. Designed as a 17-foot granite column with a bronze oak and wheat wreath, it replicates the Texas pillar at the National World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. The memorial stands as a tribute to the sacrifice and service of Texas men and women during the conflict.
