About This Memorial

The war memorial in North Scituate, Rhode Island, commemorates local servicemen who died in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Located between the Community House and Congregational Church, it features two large granite markers with metal plaques, erected in 1926 and 1946, respectively. A millstone from Scituate's first tannery honors Revolutionary Patriots, added in 1931 by the Daughters of the American Revolution. In 1986, markers for Korean and Vietnam War veterans were added, and in 2015, a Blue Star Memorial By-Way was included as a tribute to the Armed Forces. The memorial remains in good condition, maintained by the town council and local organizations.
