About This Memorial

The Fallen Timbers Battlefield Memorial Park commemorates the pivotal 1794 Battle of Fallen Timbers, a decisive conflict in the Northwest Indian War between Native American tribes and U.S. forces led by General Anthony Wayne. The site features an impressive monument honoring combatants from both sides, situated on a bluff overlooking the Maumee River. It preserves the battlefield where this historic clash occurred, with interpretive trails and reforestation efforts. The memorial is connected to nearby Fort Miamis, a British fort that played a role in both this battle and later the War of 1812. Together these sites represent a turning point in American expansion and Native American resistance in the Northwest Territory.
