"Looking better than ever, much better than it looked in the 1970’s! Do take the time to visit inside, it’s free, with many nice exhibits and impressive art. So many Presidents depicted. The volunteer hosts are helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Some people say the world is going downhill but at this place, it’s improved, well kept, and staffed with caring volunteers. Thanks to all. Allow 20-30 minutes for a fairly complete visit, but even a few minutes works if you are on a tight schedule."

Not only did he take the time to make sure it was a great photo, but he also engaged with us in such a thoughtful and personal way, making us feel valued as visitors. His patience and genuine enthusiasm were evident in every interaction. He didn’t rush or treat it like just another task—he truly cared about making our visit special. As if that weren’t enough, he also gave my daughter and me USS Cod stickers as a keepsake. It might seem like a small gesture, but it meant so much to us. We immediately put the stickers on the back of our phones, and we plan to keep them there as a reminder of this wonderful experience and the kindness we were shown. The thoughtfulness behind this simple act made us feel connected not just to the submarine’s history, but also to the people who are so dedicated to sharing its story with others.
