About This Memorial

The North Carolina Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Lexington commemorates the 216,000 North Carolinians who served and the over 1,600 who were killed or missing in the Vietnam War. Dedicated in 1991, the memorial features a red brick wall listing the names of the fallen, with surrounding evergreen trees symbolizing lasting memory. Notable design elements include a brick walkway and plaques honoring contributors, while the site's location at a rest stop on Interstate 85 makes it accessible to travelers. The memorial serves as a solemn tribute to North Carolina's sacrifice during the Vietnam conflict.

"Found this Vietnam Memorial on the way to my sister’s house in Virginia. Spent a while paying my respects to those who died and didn’t come home. It is a beautiful and classy respectful memorial. When in the area it’s worth a visit. Thanks for reading my review and a thumbs up would let me know others read these comments. Have a great day and take time to thank a veteran for their service."
