About This Memorial

The Garner Veterans Memorial, dedicated in 2013 at Lake Benson Park, honors all veterans with special recognition for those who died in conflict. Designed by Clearscapes architects, it features Servicemen Remembrance Panels listing names of fallen service members from Garner and surrounding townships, along with a Walkway of Honor with commemorative bricks. The memorial spans multiple wars, with historical narratives of each war-torn decade written by a North Carolina State University professor. Its design includes reflection benches for contemplation and upright panels organized by conflict periods. The project was funded through community donations and continues to accept brick purchases to support maintenance.
