About This Memorial

The Mississippi Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Ocean Springs commemorates those who served and died in the Vietnam War. Established in 1999, it honors Mississippi's fallen soldiers with a wall featuring their names and photos, alongside a submarine memorial dedicated to the USS Tullibee and other submarines built in Mississippi. The site includes various military symbols, flags, and a walkway where personalized bricks can be purchased to honor veterans. It serves as both a tribute to Vietnam War sacrifices and a broader recognition of military service, with ongoing efforts to locate missing photos of the honored soldiers.

"Our family strolled through. Awe inspiring memorial. Really touching place to visit and teach our children about history. I'm also glad when the park was designed they intended it to be regularly used, as there was even a space for our kids to run around while still being respectful of the memorial. Thank you to our country's Vietnam Veterans!"
