About This Memorial

The Idaho Roll Call monument, established in 2013 in Rupert, Idaho, honors all of Idaho's fallen veterans, including Army Sgt. Chris Workman and Pfc Cleston Raney. Designed by veteran advocate George Maas, it features a flag flown at half-staff year-round, one of only two U.S. memorials with this distinction. The monument commemorates veterans from conflicts spanning the Civil War to modern wars like Iraq and Afghanistan. Its historical significance extends to Minidoka County's early settlers, including Civil War and Spanish-American War veterans. The design includes a poignant dedication by Senator Kelly Anthon, reflecting on the enduring absence felt by families of the fallen.

"I had the honor of attending my first veterans day roll call at this park. It just so happens that it was also the dedication ceremony for the new title as well. I absolutely love the idea of the flag being flown here (year round) at half mast, to honor all military members...past, present and future. Keep up the good work!!!"
